War leaves long lasting trauma on its youngest survivors. Firefly International is dedicated to supporting children affected by the ravages of war, providing them with critical opportunities to heal, learn, and build a peaceful future. We partner with local organisations in Bosnia, Gaza, and among Syrian refugees, providing education, mental health support and peace building initiatives tailored to the needs of war-affected children.

Today our mission is more vital than ever before because the world is becoming increasingly dangerous for children affected by war.

FIREFLY FOR SYRIANS (SYRIA & TURKEY)

We reach over 1,500 children monthly with pre-school and science classes. Online lessons in Arabic, English and maths get over 360,000 monthly views.

FIREFLY IN BOSNIA (SVITAC)

For 30 years, we’ve engaged over 1,000 children and young people annually in educational and creative activities promoting tolerance and building a more peaceful future.

FIREFLY FOR PALESTINIANS

We had to close our mental health centre in Gaza, yet we remain committed to helping Palestinian children – supporting a new education and therapy project in Cairo.
