Firefly has been working, until 7th October 2023, with ACT International and IMET2000 funding a small but very effective project in Gaza counselling children suffering from trauma caused by the ongoing conflict.

Prior to 7th October, a quarter of children were estimated to be suffering from trauma caused by the continuing violence, bombardments and stress of their everyday lives. This interfered with their ability to function and develop normally. Our child-focussed programme addressed these needs through counselling and therapeutic activity.

Our quarterly open days gave children and families a chance to get together and have some fun.  To see a short video click HERE

Firefly hopes to re-establish the programme once the current devastating military campaign has ended, if this responds to calls from Palestinian civil society.
