Sebastian Chambers

Sebastian Chambers is the chair of trustees having rejoined the board in 2020. He is a longstanding supporter of Firefly and helped the charity to continue after the death of our founder – Ellie Maxwell – in 2009.
Sebastian combines his work with Firefly with acting as a non-executive director of a number of businesses, including Neptune the home interiors business, and CIL, the strategy consultancy. He also volunteers as a mentor to young people.
Previously, he ran CIL and helped to grow the business into an international management consultancy.
He joined CIL after a period of running a door and building panel factory, having trained with PwC in London.
Earlier in his career, Sebastian got first-hand experience in NGO work, volunteering for Skillshare Africa in Botswana, and working as a teacher for Project Trust in Zimbabwe.
He has a degree in economics from Manchester University and is a member of the Charities Faculty at the Institute of Chartered Accountants England & Wales.
