Svitac (Firefly Bosnia) is Firefly’s longest running project, based in Brčko, Bosnia. It works to encourage dialogue between children and young people through creative arts, music and language classes. Firefly International is currently working on the following projects with Svitac:
- A series of summer camps for children from the Former Yugoslavia; using music and theatre for 13 – 19 year-olds, and games and activities for younger children. Please see the Svitac site for information on previous camps, along with information about how to apply to volunteer.
- Renovating the Ellie Maxwell Youth Centre in Brcko, Bosnia.
We are constantly working on supporting Svitac during the process of their becoming completely locally managed.
